UK Status Resident. Widespread and common throughout the British Isles. Montgomeryshire Status Recorded from a few scattered sites across the county. Wingspan : M & F, 7.5-9mm. Confusion species Many species of Phyllonorycter are extremely similar, great care should be given when separating these species. It is often impossible to separate the adults of some species. |

(Bivoltine)  Habitat Wherever the foodplant is found. Foodplant Beech. Lifestage data Leaf miner. Eggs laid on underside of leaf. Larva forms a mine from the midrib to the leaf edge. Pupates in a fragile white silken cocoon formed within the mine. |
